2008 State Young Farmer CommitteeBeing involved in an organization of 230,000 people, you may think that your voice is not heard. A great way to be heard is to get involved in Farm Bureau’s Young Farmer program. Young farmers, ages 18-35, make new friends, meet others that share your interests and concerns and have great experiences like the: Young Farmer Leadership Conference in March where new and old issues are discussed and introduced and special workshops are offered. Summer Reach Out program, where you’ll visit with old friends, make new friends and learn more about agriculture in your area. Young Farmer contests (Outstanding Young Farmer, Excellence in Agriculture and the Discussion Meeting) allows young farmers to compete for great prizes and a trip to the American Farm Bureau annual meeting. State Young Farmer Committee where young farmers lead and plan young farmer events, meet people around the country., make friendships that will last a lifetime and develop your leadership skills. The Young Farmer Washington D.C. Trip where you visit with members of Congress, visit an foreign embassy and USDA and discuss current farm issues. As members of the committee, we are proud of the accomplishments that we have helped Farm Bureau achieve. We know our voices were heard. Meet the Committee | |
