Kyle and Shelby Brammell![]() Kyle and Shelby Brammell were both born and raised in Marion, Ohio. While they are Marion County Farm Bureau members, they are new residents in Hardin County. Kyle’s job as a full-time Kenton City Firefighter led them to Hardin County. While away from the station, Kyle helps a Marion County farmer raise 1,500 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat, buckwheat, straw, and hay. Shelby is employed by Education Projects and Partnerships. Over the past year, she has traveled around central Ohio teaching “Ag Investigators.” This is a program that teaches 4th grade science skills while educating students about the poultry industry. She is currently teaching a 3rd grade embryology program. These programs are sponsored by the Ohio Soybean Council, The Ohio Poultry Association, as well as Ohio 4-H. While Shelby is using her Agriculture Education degree from The Ohio State University she enjoys her time in the classroom, and has decided to further her education to become a full-time elementary teacher. Kyle and Shelby keep themselves busy in the summer raising and selling alfalfa hay and wheat straw. As children, they were both raised near their uncles’ farms. They were raised in the traditional values and lifestyles of farming and they desire to share that lifestyle with their future children. They believe that it is important for people to understand where their food comes from, as well as other by-products of the agricultural industry. Being involved in Ohio Farm Bureau has allowed them to educate the public about the agriculture industry. | |
