Barrett and Chandra French

Barrett and Chandra French reside on the French homestead in Wakeman, located in Huron County. They have a daughter, Hannah, who is eight months old.

Their belief in the future of agriculture combined with both their commitment and dedication to American agriculture inspires their involvement in such organizations as Ohio Farm Bureau. Agriculture has been their livelihood growing up, both being raised on family farms; and throughout college, as they are both graduates of The Ohio State University; and it continues today in their everyday lives.

Barrett and his brother, Justin, are the fourth generation to run their family’s seed operation, French’s Hybrids, Inc., raising corn hybrids and soybean, wheat and spelt varieties for seed production on approximately 1,800 acres in eastern Huron County and western Lorain County. Barrett’s father and grandfather also work in the family business. Chandra works full time off the farm as a Program Technician for the USDA, Farm Service Agency, Huron County.

They enjoy spending time with family, traveling, being involved with church activities, Ohio State football, and being outdoors. Barrett is an avid hunter, and Chandra enjoys horseback riding (and shopping for Hannah!).
