Chip and Shannon Yochum

Chip and Shannon live in Leesburg, which is in the northeast corner of Highland County. They were married on May 4, 2002 and have a daughter, Emma Gail who is eight months old.

Chip is an auctioneer. He works wholesale auto auctions in Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana and Kentucky. He also does antique, real estate, farm and personal property auctions. Chip grew up showing cattle in 4-H and FFA at county, state and national shows. He is proud to have his American FFA Degree. Chip's family raises grain, along with having a joint hay and club calf operation. Chip currently serves on the Membership committee for Highland County Farm Bureau, the Pastor Parish committee for their church, is an active member of the Cattleman’s Association, and is a very involved alumnus with Hillsboro FFA.

Shannon has a bachelor's degree Agriculture from Wilmington College, where she graduated in 2001. Currently, she is working toward her teaching license (Grades 4-9, science and social studies) at Ohio University Chillicothe. She also is a substitute teacher and is a Longaberger consultant. Shannon grew up showing horses in 4-H, open, and American Quarter Horse Association shows, and is a former Miss Rodeo Ohio. She is the current Vice President, Public Policy Action Team leader, and membership chair for Highland County Farm Bureau, and enjoys teaching Sunday School.

The Yochums raise show cattle and Quarter horses. The own and lease 120 acres of pasture and hay ground. The cattle are crossbred, Maine-Anjou and Shorthorns. Along with the cattle and horses, they share their farm with three dogs a Corgi (Lily), a Blue Heeler (Bull), and an Australian Shepard (Patches).
