Faces Joseph E. Haines, Deputy Director Haines was appointed to his job in January 2000. He is responsible for oversight of Ohio Department of Agriculture's (ODA) Divisions of Plant Industry, Weights and Measures, Markets and Amusement Ride Safety. He also coordinates ODA's relationships with Ohio's 94 county and independent fairs. He was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1981 to 1999, where he served as chairman of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee. In addition, he was a member of the Finance & Appropriations Committee, Reference Committee – Rules Committee, Agriculture and Development Subcommittee, Energy and Environment Committee and various other committees. He also served as a commissioner and ex-officio of the Ohio Expositions Commission. Haines is a lifelong resident of Greene County. He and his wife, Joy, reside in Xenia. | |
