Time to Renew Self-Help Electric Service Agreements

If you’re one of the many Ohio Farm Bureau Self-Help Electric Program members who chose FirstEnergy Solutions to supply electricity to your home or small business, you’ll soon receive a contract renewal notice detailing how you can continue saving.

Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) Director of Energy Services Dale Arnold said renewing your FirstEnergy Solutions electricity contract now guarantees that for the next one-year term, residential customers will save 4 percent off the competitive portion of their electric bill. If you’re a small business customer, you’ll save 5 percent.

FirstEnergy Solutions’ renewal offer to farm, small business and residential members of Ohio Farm Bureau is very competitive. However, if you decide not to renew, the electric generation portion of your bill will simply revert to your electric utility without the 4 percent FirstEnergy Solutions savings.

This percentage discount will be taken off your "generation shopping credit," which can be found on your electric bill or by calling 800-225-0444. The generation shopping credit – which varies each month – represents the amount credited to you if you switch to an alternative electric supplier, such as FirstEnergy Solutions.

There are three ways to renew your electric supply contract with FirstEnergy Solutions: simply sign and return the form included in your notice when it arrives, visit www.fes.com or call 877-524-SAVE (7283). When renewing your contract, be sure to reference the special priority code listed on your renewal notice.

Arnold said Farm Bureau is pleased to continue endorsing FirstEnergy Solutions as the preferred supplier of electricity and natural gas to Farm Bureau members. To learn more about FirstEnergy Solutions, visit www.fes.com
