Volunteer
Patti Boyert, Medina County

Patti Boyert believes being active in the Medina County Farm Bureau is doing service for the community and her children. Boyert feels because more and more people are removed from farm life, promoting agriculture through Farm Bureau educates those people about the benefits of agriculture and lets them know what agriculture provides for them.

"I want to preserve the industry and let our nonfarm neighbors know about the importance of agriculture," Boyert said. "My children are also very interested in farming, and I want to give them the opportunity to continue in this lifestyle."

Boyert has been a member of Farm Bureau since she was in high school in 1975. She currently serves as treasurer and sits on the board for the Medina County Farm Bureau. For the past 10 to 12 years, she has co-chaired the annual membership campaign. She also is extensively involved in the county’s promotion and education campaigns. Boyert said she volunteers for whatever the Farm Bureau needs her to do.

"I have often referred to her as a ‘volunteer O.D.’ because she can handle so many diverse activities," John Fitzpatrick, organization director for Wayne, Ashland and Medina counties said. "I have been closely following the scientific advances concerning cloning because I intend to have Patti cloned many times over for the good of Farm Bureau."

Boyert and her husband, Mike, have six children ranging in age from 6 to 18. They run a small family farm and a greenhouse and nursery with a large wholesale and retail operation.
