Business Planning SeminarAnyone who owns a family business or is interested in starting one will have the opportunity to learn business tips from an internationally known economist at an Ohio State University Extension-sponsored seminar. The Licking County office of Ohio State University Extension and Farm Credit Services will host David M. Kohl, professor of agricultural finance, small business management and entrepreneurship at Virginia Tech., on Dec. 12 at the OSU/Central Ohio Technical College Newark Campus. Registration before Dec. 7 is $20 for the first family member and $10 for each additional member. Registration after Dec. 7 is $25 for the first family member and $15 for each additional member. Meals are included in the fee. The program, "Family/Business Transition Seminar: Financial Planning in Agriculture," will focus on topics including the 10 rules of transition management; how to reduce deferred taxes; land values; cost of family living; and how much money is needed to retire.
