County Achievements

During the Harvest Banquet, county Farm Bureaus were recognized for outstanding achievement in eight program areas during 2000-2001: advisory councils and young farmers, information, marketing information, membership, promotion and education, public affairs, safety programs and youth programs.

County program chairmen submit their gold star applications in July and August, where they describe their projects for the year. Ohio Farm Bureau staff members in charge of the various programs award the stars. The following county presidents were recognized for their county earning eight stars this year, the maximum awarded: Dan Eichelberger, Ashland; Roger VanGorden, Butler; Jac Dill, Franklin; Norman Bratton Jr, Fulton; Marjorie Yerman, Mahoning; David Barco, Medina; Randy Mott, Miami; Don Graham, Morgan; Larry Ulrey, Morrow; Tim Williams, Pike; Gordon Weber, Portage; 100 member gain; Fred Mueller, Richland; Richard Slicker, Stark; John Graf, Summit; David Geitgey, Wayne; and Dan Theil, Wyandot.
