Ag Promotion Campaign Brings Ohio’s Farmers to the ForefrontOhio Farm Bureau’s Promotion and Education program launched a successful promotion campaign titled "Ohio Farmers Are Naturally Resourceful" with billboards, T-shirts, ads and posters. Last spring, billboards with the theme "Everyday is Earth Day to a Farmer" sprouted up throughout the state. The fall billboard campaign carried the message "Keeping Our Land a Great Place to Live." Ohio Farm Bureau felt Ohio’s farmers needed to do a better job of telling about the good work farmers do every day. Today’s farmers are producing the safest, most abundant and affordable food supply the world has ever known, while also protecting the environment and greatly contributing to our economy. The "Naturally Resourceful" message encompasses all of the ways farmers contribute to the environment. Farmers are, and have always been, resourceful in the ways they find to make their operations more efficient by using ingenuity and technological developments. Farmers find ways to squeeze more from the bottom line – reduce, reuse and recycle – that’s resourcefulness, and since it comes to farmers like second nature, they’re "Naturally Resourceful." The theme can include many issues, such as livestock and crop production, food safety, water and air quality, soil conservation, safe use of pesticides, biotechnology, wildlife habitat and other land use issues. The core message, though, is farmers are responsible caretakers of the land, they use modern technology to better grow our food and are professionals doing a job that we all depend upon. Visitors to Malabar Farm State Park will find "Naturally Resourceful" posters and T-shirts.
