Faces Dean DePiero DePiero is a second term Democrat whose House district includes portions of Cuyahoga County. He serves on the Rules and Reference Committee. Many of the bills he has introduced deal with criminal justice issues. In June 2001, he was unanimously elected by the House Democratic Caucus to his current position as Minority Leader. He is a life-long resident of Parma. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Ashland University and Juris Doctorate from Cleveland Marshall College of Law. An attorney since 1995, he served as the assistant law director-prosecutor for Berea. His previous experience in elected office was as city councilman in Parma. DePiero currently practices law along with his legislative duties. He is active in several bar associations and serves on the board of directors for the Parma Chamber of Commerce. | |
