March 15 Deadline for Insuring Spring CropsOhio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) members can buy crop insurance underwritten by American Farm Bureau Insurance Services (AFBIS), an affiliate of the American Farm Bureau Federation. AFBIS serves the crop insurance needs of Farm Bureau members in 32 states, representing more than $140 million in premium volume. A relationship involving AFBIS, Ohio Farm Bureau and Nationwide Insurance will bring quality crop insurance to Farm Bureau members through local Nationwide Insurance agents in Ohio. The three organizations are compatible partners, considering OFBF’s 75-year sponsor relationship with Nationwide, and its long affiliation with American Farm Bureau. Nationwide was founded by Ohio Farm Bureau, and sold its reinsurance operations to another affiliate of American Farm Bureau – American Agricultural Insurance Company. AFBIS offers a complete portfolio of crop insurance products through Nationwide agents for eligible spring planted crops. Available coverages include multiple peril crop insurance, revenue assurance, catastrophic risk protection, crop revenue coverage and income protection. AFBIS provides continuing education courses to Nationwide agents who sell crop coverages. Many AFBIS crop insurance professionals have Farm Bureau insurance backgrounds and are among the most knowledgeable in the crop insurance field. The deadline for insuring most spring crops is March 15. For a price quote, contact your county Farm Bureau office for the nearest Nationwide agent certified through American Farm Bureau Insurance Services. | |
