Young Farmers Plan Snowball SafariLooking for an opportunity to meet other young farmers just like you? Learn new ideas to improve your quality of farm life? Find out about hot new topics? Then get ready for the 2002 Young Farmer Winter Leadership Conference, which will be a Snowball Safari. This year's annual event will be held at the Marriott Northwest in Dublin on March 1 and 2. Registration starts at 4 p.m. March 1. Cost is $100 per person. Workshops planned for the weekend include estate planning, "First On the Scene" emergency tips, "Pampering Yourself," good neighbor ideas, landscaping and gardening tips, travel safety ideas, and technology tips for the computer-minded. Another highlight of the conference is the ever-popular Friday Night Extravaganza. This year's jungle theme will be spotlighted by visits from furry, feathery and scaly friends from the Columbus Zoo. The State Young Farmer Committee is also planning a rip-roaring evening of safari games. Registration deadline is Feb. 8; forms are available at your county Farm Bureau office. Please note that after the February deadline, space cannot be guaranteed. Final registration packets will be mailed after Feb. 20, 2002. | |
