COSI on Wheels Sign-up Begins Feb. 5
Cutline: Agriculture Adventures recently visited Darby Elementary School in Pickaway County. Agriculture Adventures, the traveling COSI exhibit, has sold out for the past two school years, and OFBF Promotion and Education Specialist Judy Roush said it remains one of the most requested COSI on Wheels programs. If you would like Agricuture Adventures to come to your community in the 2002-2003 school year, sign-ups begin Feb. 5. Call COSI at 888-891-COSI. Agriculture Adventures is a hands-on program for elementary schools, focusing on students in kindergarten through grade five , Roush said. The program begins with an assembly for the entire school, called Lunchroom Live, where students interact with a COSI "chef" who prepares a pizza and explains where the ingredients originate. In the afternoon, students are invited to participate in hands on activities such as soil testing, milking a fiberglass cow, grocery shopping, carding wool and grinding wheat into flour.
