Faces Shirley Smith Shirley Smith is in her second term in the Ohio House. Her committee assignments include Ways and Means, Criminal Justice and Health and Family Services where she is the ranking member on the Subcommittee of Children and Family Services. Before joining the legislature, Smith was a communications professional as a talk show host for a major Cleveland radio station and held various positions with a local television station. Along with her legislative duties, she is active with Women in Government; National Black Caucus of State Legislators; Emily's List; National Organization for Women and Ohio Legislative Women's Caucus. Smith graduated from Cleveland State University with a degree in communications. She also studied at Cuyahoga Community College. She is the mother of two children. | |
