OFBF, Soybean Organizations End Management AgreementLeaders of the Ohio Soybean Council (OSC), Ohio Soybean Association (OSA) and OFBF jointly announced the discontinuation of the contract management agreement between the organizations. Since 1988, the soybean groups have contracted with OFBF for staffing, facilities and other services. "We are grateful to OFBF for seeing us through OSA’s meager beginnings and the birth of the Ohio Soybean Council," said Dale Profit, chairman of the Ohio Soybean Association. "We are proud to join the list of organizations that OFBF has carried into independence and still serve farmers today," he added. According to Farm Bureau President Terry McClure: "This is a relationship that has benefited members of both organizations. We’re proud to have played a role in helping the soybean groups grow into the successful organizations they’ve become." The transition process is developing according to OSC/OSA Executive Director Susie Calhoon. The exact timing and procedures are being finalized. In the interim, Calhoon said "All parties will continue to work together to serve Ohio’s soybean growers." OFBF Executive Vice President Jack Fisher said the end of contract services does not mark an end of the groups working together. "While we’ll no longer share office space, we’ll always share the goal of bettering Ohio’s farm community." | |
