Learning About Wildlife

Butler County Farm Bureau will help members deal with an issue familiar to all Ohio farmers. It will hold a Woodland Seminar that will focus on both the benefits and problems associated with wildlife May 4 at 8:30 a.m. at the Hueston Room near the Marina at Hueston Woods State Park. The morning session will include four speakers and the afternoon session will include a field visit.

The morning speakers and their topics are as follows:

  • Wildlife Related Species & Their Habitat – Heidi Devine, ODNR Division of Wildlife
  • Improving Woodland Wildlife Habitat – Scott Costello, ODNR Division of Forestry
  • Wildlife Damage Control – Barb Groves, Highland County SWCD Wildlife Specialist
  • Kinds of Services Available & Cost Sharing Programs Available – Butler & Preble SWCD & NRCS Offices.

After lunch, the group will visit a farm for a program that includes the same presenters from the morning program and farm owners will discuss how, when and why they are doing their wildlife and forestry projects.

Registration is $15 and will include a light breakfast, lunch and notebooks. Registration is limited. To register, call the county FB office at 513-844-8371.
