Media Response

Media Goes to Washington

Elsewhere in this issue is coverage of the recent County President's trip to Washington, D.C. Along with the OFBF leaders, 15 members of the Ohio media participated in the three-day event.

Their stories have shown up in local papers and on local radio and TV stations. Because of their efforts, thousands of farmers and nonfarmers learned of Farm Bureau's strong lobbying efforts in the nation's capital.

Represented on the trip were The Bryan Times (Bryan), Farm and Dairy (Salem), FarmWorld (Hamilton), The Herald Star (Steubenville), Leader Publications (Akron), Ohio's Country Journal (Columbus), The Postmark (New Middletown), The Review (East Liverpool), ABN/WIMA (Lima), WFIN (Findlay), WOUB-TV & Radio (Athens), WRFD (Columbus), WTUZ (New Philadelphia) and WUCO (Marysville).

Additionally, Washington Bureau reporters for the Associated Press, WHIO-TV (Dayton) and WTOV-TV (Steubenville) covered the event. WNWO-TV (Toledo) provided post-trip reports. And the Ohio News Network, reaching more than 700,000 Ohio households, devoted their Washington weekly talk show "On the Hill," to interviews with OFBF Vice President Bob Peterson and Government Affairs Vice President Keith Stimpert.

If you've seen or heard their reports, be sure to say thanks to those reporters and their editors or station managers. Their commitment of time and effort provided a great service to their audiences and to Farm Bureau.
