Roger Helberg
Henry County

Roger Helberg of Henry County says being a part of Farm Bureau just came naturally to him. He said his family was long-time members, and he was a member of Farm Bureau youth. In fact, his involvement in Farm Bureau youth led to a hobby he has kept throughout his life – calling square dances.

"I learned how to call square dances at the state camps, and I’ve stayed with it," said Helberg. "Farm Bureau teaches youth all sorts of great things."

Helberg has served as the policy development and public affairs chair for Henry County FB. He also has been the chair and vice chair of the county FB board and of his advisory council. Helberg donates many volunteer hours to the Henry County Farm Bureau.

Helberg is a retired machinist from the Campbell Soup Company. Helberg also volunteers for the Red Cross.

He owns an 80-acre farm that has been in his family since 1865. He and his family raise corn, wheat and soybeans. He and his wife, Mary Alice, have two grown children, Mike and Michelle.
