Faces Dr. David Glauer, Chief As Ohio's State veterinarian, David Glauer serves as the state's top animal health official. He oversees livestock inspectors and veterinary medical officers, and administers Ohio's Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory. He works closely with his federal counterparts on disease control and animal production food safety programs and initiatives. Glauer is an elected representative to the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Public Health and Regulatory Veterinary Medicine. He is also a member of the Livestock Conservation Institute and serves on the executive committee of the U. S. Animal Health Association. He also is active in the National Association of Chief Livestock Health Officials and the North Central Animal Health Association. Glauer is a graduate of Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine. He managed a large animal practice for 27 years, specializing in food animal health. | |
