William J. Hartnett

Rep. William Hartnett, D-Mansfield, is currently serving his second term. He is the ranking minority member on the Education Committee and serves on the Rules and References, Public Utilities, and Ways and Means committees. He also serves on several special committees dealing with educational issues.

Previously, Hartnett was a teacher, superintendent of schools, president and CEO-Mansfield-Richland Area Chamber of Commerce, vice president and interim president-North Central Technical College and adjunct faculty Ashland University.

Hartnett received his bachelor's degree in education, an education specialist's degree from Kent State University and his masters from West Virginia University. Along with his legislative duties, Hartnett is currently a trustee for the Richland County Foundation, chair and trustee for the Richland County Technical College Foundation and campaign chair and president of the Richland County United Way.

He and his wife, Donna, have five children and five grandchildren.
