In his 13-year career with Ohio Farm Bureau, Kurt Ely has held several positions. He came to Farm Bureau in 1989 as an organization director for Clark, Champaign and Madison counties. He was then named director of commodity activities in 1991, where he also served as field director for the Ohio Soybean Association. In 1996, he took on the responsibilities of the metropolitan program. He was promoted to director of promotion and education in 1996. In 2001, he was named vice president of information, education and community services. "Working on behalf of Ohios farmers to increase awareness of agricultures contributions is both challenging and rewarding," Ely said. "Im excited about future opportunities to inform and enhance the relationship between farmers and consumers." Ely received his bachelors degree from The Ohio State University with a major in animal science and a minor in agricultural industries. He is currently pursuing a masters degree in marketing communications from Franklin University. He and his wife, Jane, have two daughters Taylor, 10, and Madison, 8. They are residents of Columbus. | |
