The Buckeye Region Membership recognition was held March 23 at the Shrine Cafeteria in Carey. There were150 members, guests and staff in attendance. Awards were presented to the top regional signers, and those counties that had achieved gain or farmer gain were recognized.

Regional top new member signers are Carl Miller, Seneca County; Earl Gerdeman, Van Wert County; Margie Schiller, Ottawa County; Lee Oswalt, Richland County; and Jack and Alice Davis, Auglaize County.

"Our campaign focused heavily on signing new active members this year. As a region, we have signed over 125 more new active farmer members compared to last year," said Kent Fisher, Buckeye Area supervisor. "Our volunteers and staff worked very hard this year to achieve farmer gain. Twenty-one counties in the region have achieved farmer gain with more to follow."

After the awards portion of the evening, there was a prize drawing where more than 70 prizes were given away. Following the recognition, there was a square dance called by John Wargowsky of Fun Dance Entertainment.
