Profiles Volunteer Sandi Lang is part of a fourth generation Scioto County Farm Bureau family. She says Farm Bureau became important to her when she married her husband, Tony, and joined his farming family. "I first became a member as a tribute to (Tony’s) grandparents. They were very active, and Farm Bureau was so important to them," Lang said. Farm Bureau has become a big part of Lang’s life. She has served on many committees during her tenure. She and her husband were the 1997 Scioto County Farm Bureau Young Farm Couple as well as then-Southeast Region Young Farm Couple finalists. Currently, she is the membership co-chair and youth adviser. During this year’s River Valley Membership Recognition, she was given an award for being the top overall membership signer. "I’m really proud of our volunteers. This is the second year in a row we have had both gain and farmer gain," Lang said. "Membership was a big priority to me this year." This fall Lang will take over the reins as county president. Sandi and Tony have two daughters, Elizabeth, 17, and Toni, 9. They run a market selling everything from sweet corn to farming supplies. Tony and Sandi also serve as 4-H advisers. | |
