Government Affairs Staff ChangesDeering Dyer has been named OFBF director of political education and Larry Gearhardt returns to the staff as OFBF director of local affairs. The staff changes were announced by Vice President for Government Affairs Keith Stimpert. Dyer replaces Chris Baldwin who resigned to take a position with Strategic Public Partners. As director of political education, Dyer is responsible for managing grassroots political involvement programs; conducting and managing education programs for members; coordinating volunteer development for OFBF political education, policy development and government affairs activities; conducting candidate evaluations, OFBF's political action committee and assisting with program development. He began his FB career as organization director in Crawford, Marion, Morrow and Richland counties. He is a native of Brown County and lives in Richland County with his wife, Jean. Gearhardt formerly worked as OFBF legislative analyst from 1991 to 1999. He is principal with AgPro, a consulting firm that worked with OFBF on SB 141 and county land use issues. As director of local affairs, he will work with organization directors and county public affairs committees to plan and carry out public affairs activities at the local level. He will also work with members of the Ohio General Assembly on issues related to local concerns and will maintain contact with state and regional government agencies, departments and organizations. He and his wife, Michelle, live in Miami County. | |
