OFBF Continues to Promote Agriculture

OFBF Director of Promotion and Education, Pat Petzel, said OFBF is working with the North Market in Columbus on several events. In May, staff and Franklin County Farm Bureau volunteers hosted an information booth at the market’s annual fundraiser, the Apron Gala. During the event, guests enjoyed appetizers, entrees and desserts prepared by North Market merchants. The evening included culinary demonstrations, raffles, a silent auction and entertainment. This summer, OFBF will have the corn wall used in the Land and Living display at the State Fair at the Market’s Food and Wine Festival on July 13, and the COSI on Wheels "Agriculture Adventures" exhibit will appear at the Farmers’ Festival on Aug. 17. In operation since 1876, the North Market is Columbus' only remaining public market. More than 30 merchants offer a wide variety of fresh produce, meat, poultry, seafood, flowers and other specialty food items.
