MyHealth Adds 70/50 PPO, Child-Only Plans

Nationwide Health Plans recently announced the addition of two new MyHealth individual health plans: a high-deductible, low-cost PPO and a child-only plan.

The Child-Only Plan is designed for children between the ages of 1 and 14 who are not eligible for coverage under a parent or guardian. The plan is 90/70 which means eligible network services are paid at 90 percent, while non-network services are paid at 70 percent. (Children 15 and over must apply for the adult plan.)

The 70/50 PPO Plan was designed for individuals who are in good health, want to self insure a portion of their health care and keep their premiums as low as possible. It features a $35 office co-pay, a $2,500 and $5,000 deductible option, and a generic-only prescription drug discount. The plan also includes an adult wellness benefit and the complete MedPerks package, including prescription drug benefit. Through the MedPerks Discount Program, Nationwide Health Plans offers members and their dependents discounts to services that are typically excluded or limited. Services such as vision, dental and chiropractic care are included in the MedPerks program.

MyHealth is NHP’s individual health insurance program. Introduced three years ago, MyHealth offers a 90/70 PPO, a 80/60 PPO, a $35 co-pay and a Medical Savings Account plan – all of which provide network and non-network benefits.

The two new MyHealth products were designed in response to requests by agents/brokers, customers and the Ohio Farm Bureau. MyHealth, which is available to individuals under age 65, requires Farm Bureau membership.
