Plan Now to Attend Farm Bill MeetingsGet ready for this summer’s Fact Finding Mission – it’s going to delve into a taxing issue. Taxing Ohio’s Future: An Overview of Key Tax Issues features a two-day program with information being presented primarily in a lecture format at the Westin Great Southern Hotel in Columbus Aug. 28 to 29. A $75 fee covers all meals, the program and a night’s stay at the Westin. A panel of county auditors will present a discussion; other topics will include taxes from a school administrator’s perspective, national tax priorities, tax impact on economic development and a presentation from The Buckeye Institute, an Ohio think-tank that studies public policy issues. The program will end with a humorous look at tax reform from Dr. Richard Vedder, Ohio University, a national public speaker who has his own ideas on how to "fix" the nation’s tax system. Attendance is limited to 45; anyone interested in tax issues and reform will find this a learning experience, according to OFBF organizers. Deadline for registration is Aug. 1.
