County Leaders Invited to Annual Conference

County Farm Bureau presidents and chairmen of eight program areas are invited to attend this year’s Leadership Conference Aug. 15 and 16 in Columbus. The annual training program also will include a visit to Ohio Farm Bureau’s Land and Living display at the Ohio State Fair.

In addition to presidents, government affairs, promotion and education, advisory council and young farmer and agricultural ecology chairmen, and marketing, information, youth and safety coordinators will participate.

The theme for this year’s program will be decided soon, but organizers anticipate it will focus on the Envisioned Future project that was introduced at last year’s Leadership Conference.

The program takes place at the Columbus Marriott North and Sanese Services. The Discussion Meet, which will determine participants in the state finals at this year’s annual meeting, will be held the evening of Aug. 15 with a trip to the state fair planned for the afternoon of Aug. 16.

More than 500 county leaders are expected to participate in the program.

"This conference is so important because it really sets the tone for the rest of the program year," according to David Rule, OFBF director of technology and staff development, who is coordinating the event. "We’re really excited about the program and look forward to seeing the county leaders in Columbus in August."

More information will be sent to those invited to participate. For more information, contact your county Farm Bureau office after mid-July.
