Bill Harris, R-Ashland, serves as reference committee chairman, vice chair of both the Finance and Financial Institutions, and Education, Agriculture, Economic Development committees, and serves on the Technology and Aerospace and Rules committees. His commission appointments include Controlling Board, War Orphan’s Scholarship Board, Joint Legislative Ethics Committee and Legislative Committee on Education Oversight. Harris is the former owner of Bill Harris Chevrolet/Geo, Auto Center, Finance Corporation and Louise Harris Insurance Agency. He was a trustee for the Ohio Automobile Dealers Association and vice He served as a U. S. Marine Corps major, is a graduate of the University of Arizona with honors in secondary education, and received his honorary doctor of laws degree from Ashland University.
