Pesek Named Nationwide Vice President Michael R. Pesek has been named vice president of Sponsor Relations and Business Development for Nationwide Insurance. Pesek provides leadership in managing Nationwide's relationship with Ohio Farm Bureau and its six other sponsor organizations. He also manages Nationwide's affinity business, direct distribution channel and Internet distribution channel, and oversees Nationwide's brokerage firm, Insurance Intermediaries. Pesek previously served as Nationwide's vice president of Commercial Operations and Agribusiness, and as president and chief operating officer of Nationwide's Farmland Insurance Company. He began his career with Nationwide in 1981 in business operations and advanced through several sales management positions before his appointment as Nationwide's state officer of South Carolina. After leading Farmland Insurance for four years, he was named vice president of Agribusiness, then assumed responsibility for Commercial Operations. Pesek earned a marketing degree from The Ohio State University. He attended University of Dayton graduate school, and the University of Missouri's Graduate Institute of Cooperative Leadership. He has earned the Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter insurance designations. Pesek and his wife, Marsha, are parents of three children: Elizabeth, a recent graduate of Iowa State University; Mickey, a student at Bowling Green University; and Lauren, who attends Olentangy High School. | |
