Gayle Hansen
Cuyahoga County

Gayle Hansen has been an active Cuyahoga County Farm Bureau member for 20 years. Hansen had grown up with Farm Bureau and watched her mother serve as president for the county FB.

"I guess it was just ingrained into me. I’ve watched the grassroots of this organization help farmers all my life," Hansen said. "Being a part of Farm Bureau allows me to watch policy develop from the county level all the way to the federal level."

Hansen has served on the county board for 18 years. She was formerly president and is currently secretary/treasurer. She has been a delegate to OFBF’s annual meeting for many years. She also has served as membership, policy development, and annual meeting chair, among others. She also has worked on state policy and the OFBF Commodity Conference committee.

"I often find my hand going up in meetings. I volunteer for everything I can," Hansen said. "This organization and the people involved are just about the only ones who really care for agriculture in my county. We have to keep busy and stay strong."

She and her sister own and operate Hansens’ Greenhouse in Olmstead Falls. They offer a large greenhouse and cut flower business.
