Farm-to-Table Consensus

Representatives of Ohio’s farm-to-table food industry gathered at an Ohio Agribusiness Forum in Columbus in mid-June. The meeting was organized by Ohio Farm Bureau Federation in an effort to develop an Ohio Agricultural Agenda that could be used to promote issues of common concern throughout the industry. Ohio State University Political Science Professor Herb Asher spoke to the group about consensus building and the value of a unified policy message. During a luncheon, Ohio Senate President Richard Finan, pictured here, talked about his years serving in the state legislature. Some common concerns addressed were labor availability, lawsuit abuse, excessive regulations, economic development and consumer education.
