Promoting agriculture is important to county Farm Bureaus; Champaign County is no different. Champaign County Farm Bureau has invited radio station WRFD 880 AM to broadcast live from its building at the Champaign County Fair Aug. 7 from * a.m. to * p.m.

A WRFD personality will give market and other agriculture information and talk to fairgoers while there. The Champaign County Farm Bureau president, the county Farm Bureau policy development committee chair and the county fair queen will be interviewed.

Jason Dagger, OFBF organization director for Champaign, Clark and Madison counties, said he hopes the publicity WRFD brings to the fair and to agriculture in general will result in more people stopping by Champaign County Farm Bureau’s fair building to look at the displays and talk to members.

"I think this will be a real good way to get the Champaign County Farm Bureau name out there and in front of people. We sponsor youth projects at the fair and we’re heavily involved in other areas, and this will be a good way to bring that to light," Dagger said.

Dagger invites everyone to stop by and see WRFD and the Champaign County Farm Bureau at the fair, Aug. 2 to 9 in Urbana.
