Vintage Ohio Festival

Vintage Ohio was held Aug. 2 and 3 at Lake Farmpark in Lake County. The festival offers arts and crafts, local musicians, wine tasting, food and an opportunity to interact with Ohio winemakers. OFBF has participated in the festival since 1998. Volunteers from Cuyahoga and Lake County Farm Bureaus assisted OFBF staff with the display, which focused on the "Ohio Farmers are Naturally Resourceful" campaign.

Festival goers stopped by the display to spin the "OFBF Wheel of Fortune" trivia game for a chance to win prizes such as Farm Bureau pens and kazoos. Four correct answers earned a Naturally Resourceful T-shirt. One of the wheel categories was northeastern Ohio agriculture. Those with an incorrect answer were given a pack of gum wrapped in a Cuyahoga County Farm Bureau wrapper

"At certain times during the festival, we had a line of folks waiting to spin the wheel," said OFBF Metropolitan Program Coordinator Emily Kahrs. "Each participant walked away not only winning a prize with the Farm Bureau logo on it, but they also gained some knowledge about Farm Bureau and agriculture. The event really helps us promote agriculture to a metro audience. Festival goers are in a fun atmosphere and want to learn where their food, and in this case wine, comes from," she said.

The American Bus Association has named Vintage Ohio a top 100 event. Not only did Farm Bureau participate, but the organization was an event sponsor, sponsoring the "People Mover" wagons that transported festival goers around the event.
