Farmer views on emergency services

Farm Bureau Advisory Councils recently discussed the quality and quantity of emergency services in their local areas. Here are a few of the comments shared.

Wayne NW #19 – Twenty years ago the average time a volunteer stayed with the department was 10 years , now it is about two years. Much more training required. Younger people don’t want to take the time required.

Wyandot Mohawk Dirty DozenState needs to be careful about regulating volunteer EMS and fire department training or we won’t have any volunteers. Rural communities can’t afford to pay full-time personnel.

Richland Crestview ActivatorsVolunteers buy their own gear which is costly. More people could volunteer if not so costly or if it were furnished.

Huron HarvestersWe really should commend the volunteer firefighters for what they do. They are our heroes, our guardian angels.
