AFBF to consolidate officesby Bob Stallman, president, American Farm Bureau Federation The American Farm Bureau Federation's board of directors has voted unanimously to consolidate the organization's office to Washington, D.C. This is a positive move for the organization and offers us the opportunity to unify our staff resources under one roof. The consolidation of our Park Ridge, Ill., resources into to our current Washington office will increase the organization's efficiency and will more effectively support AFBF's mission to improve profitability for America's farmers and ranchers and better the quality of life in rural America. This action by the AFBF board sends a strong message to Farm Bureau leaders, Farm Bureau members and our nation's policymakers that the organization is setting a bold course to make it an even stronger force in representing the interests of America's farm and ranch families. In addition to our public policy efforts, this consolidation allows us to better focus program areas such as public relations, economic analysis, organization development and legal resources to effectively accomplish our organization's goals. The consolidation will begin in early 2003 and substantially all of AFBF's Park Ridge office resources and operations will be transferred. Editors Note: AFBF was organized in 1919 and established a national headquarters office in Chicago and a legislative services office in Washington, D.C. | |
