Plan now to attend youth annual meeting

"Hillbilly Christmas" is the theme of this year's Youth Annual Meeting, Dec. 7 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Dublin.

The meeting begins with registration and dancing at 9 a.m., and the day's events include the awards for Outstanding Youth Council and Spotlight on Safety skit and recognition of the State Youth Committee (SYC) and youth advisers. Lunch is on your own. Registration is not necessary, however OFBF Director of Young Leaders, Darrell Rubel, said admission is one canned or boxed food item, which will be donated to Faith Mission in Columbus. Last year, youths contributed more than 350 items.

"Most of all we are going to have lots of fun," said SYC Chairman Lindsey Ulrey from Morrow County. She said that in participating in Farm Bureau youth programs, "One can get so much more out of Farm Bureau than one can put in. You get to be involved in an organization that cares about each of its members. You can gain lifetime friendships, create networking connections, explore the real you and have lots of fun at the same time," she said.

Other SYC members are Emily Reidlinger, Wyandot County; Kristy Schnell, Auglaize County; Chris Snyder, Stark County; Miranda Gross, Harrison County; Melinda McKay, Morgan County; Lisa Arnold, Wayne County; Michelle Eck, Miami County; and Ryan Stobbs, Franklin County.

Youths who need more information should contact their youth advisers or county Farm Bureau office.
