Glenn Hawk, 77, has been a Summit County Farm Bureau member for more than 50 years. He has held many positions and served on many committees during his tenure.

He was president of the Summit County Farm Bureau board for six years, and was a board member for a number of years. He also has served as membership and public affairs chair. He has been a delegate to the OFBF annual meeting and the AFBF annual meeting. Hawk also visited Washington, D.C., as part of the annual county presidents’ trip.

"Farm Bureau has done so many things for the farmers. It’s a good organization to belong to," Hawk said. "I’ve met so many people over the years, and they have inspired me to remain a member. Farm Bureau is good people."

Hawk still farms and raises beef cattle, corn, soybeans, wheat and hay.

He and his wife, Marybelle, reside in Akron, and have three grown children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. They are members of the Springfield Church of the Brethren, where Hawk taught Sunday school for many years.
