Survey resultsPreliminary compilation of more than 300 Buckeye Farm News reader surveys show that after a year, readers are pleased with the new format. More than 180 readers completed a survey at Farm Science Review, and 125 readers returned the mail-in survey that was printed in the Sept. 16 issue. Staff members are still compiling the results, but here are some general observations from the surveys: Buckeye Farm News is easy to read and the format is easy to follow. Many read it the day it is received, or within one to two days. When asked what words describe Buckeye Farm News, respondents said it was informative, interesting and useful. Of topics currently being covered, county features, government and grassroots information and marketing and production pages topped the list. Possible future subjects suggested include direct marketing, farm safety, food safety and regulations. Readers also seem pleased with the paper quality and the amount of advertising. OFBF staff members will carefully consider reader comments to determine if any changes should be made to the publication. "Our staff appreciates the input we've received from members," said Editor Joe Cornely. "We're eager to keep producing a publication that's of value to our readers."
