OFBF, COSI earn honor for ‘Lunch Room Live’The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and Columbus’ COSI won the Award of Excellence in the 2003 Associations Advance America Awards program, a national competition sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives, headquartered in Washington, D.C. OFBF and COSI received the award for its "Lunch Room Live" program, which is better known to Farm Bureau members as Agriculture Adventures, the COSI on Wheels program that has visited schools throughout Ohio for the past three years. "Lunch Room Live" is the actual "show" within the display that features "Chef Provolone" discussing food and Ohio agriculture. Since winning the award, the program is now in the running to receive a Summit Award, which will be chosen in June. Now in its 13th year, the Associations Advance America program recognizes associations that propel America forward with innovative projects in education, skills training, standards-setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship and community service. COSI’s Agricultural Adventures program is booked through the end of this school year. If you’d like more information about the program, contact OFBF at 614-246-8245. | |
