FB members appointed to state commodity boards

Several members of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation have been appointed to various Ohio commodity marketing boards by Ohio Department of Agriculture Director Fred Dailey.

"It is our commodity boards and their members whose commitment to market development helps agriculture remain Ohio’s top industry," Dailey said. "These individuals are some of the most experienced and accomplished leaders in Ohio agriculture."

Following are those appointed:

  • Ohio Beef Council: FB members Robert Shugert, Guernsey County; Gene Steiner, Warren County; Tom Morrison, Morrow County; and Tom Dierksheide, Wood County. Other members of the committee are Glene Fiechtner, Crawford County; and Joe Foster, Gallia County.
  • Ohio Sheep and Wool Marketing Program: David Burkhart, Hardin County; Bruce Thayer, Erie County; Dick Sechrist, Knox County; and Wayne Arnold, Fayette County. Sam Wiford, Auglaize County, is also a member.
  • Ohio Vegetable and Small Fruit Research and Development Board: Mark Guess, Greene County; Roger Maurer, Wayne County; and John Graf, Summit County. Eric Hirzel, Wood County, is also a member.
  • Ohio Corn Marketing Program: James Cessna, Wood County; Clyde Harrold, Hardin County; and David Roehm, Highland County. Other members are James Berg, Auglaize County; Stephen Van Zant, Preble County.

Other boards appointed were:

  • Ohio Egg Marketing Program: Ronald Gross, Mercer County; Leonard Kropp, Darke County; and Lisa Timmerman, Mercer County.
  • Ohio Grape Industries Committee: Claudio Salvador, Erie County.
