Jim Chakeres

Director of Marketing and Risk Management

Jim Chakeres came to Ohio Farm Bureau in April 1999 as the director of marketing and risk management for the Business Services Department.

In this position he is responsible for marketing information, farm income and risk management programming. He is also the executive director for the Ohio Sheep and Wool Program and the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association. Chakeres also is the organizer of OFBF’s "Land and Living – Agriculture . . . Your Link to Life!" exhibit at the Ohio State Fair.

"I enjoy working for agriculture; it is my background and my life," Chakeres said. "I am fortunate that working for the Ohio Farm Bureau and the sheep organizations allows me to combine my personal interests with my career."

Prior to working for Ohio Farm Bureau, Chakeres worked for Countrymark Co-op and the Ohio sheep programs.

He graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in 1985 and a master’s degree in 1989.

Chakeres resides in Columbus.
