Three named scholarship winners

Three young Ohioans are winners of the Commitment to Agriculture Scholarship, sponsored by Monsanto and the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture. Winners of the $1,500 scholarships are Sarah Luthman, Shelby County, daughter of Anthony and Mary Luthman; Patrick Nolan, Huron County, son of Mike and Jill Nolan; and Tammie Ruebush, Preble County, daughter of Bill and Margaret Ruebush.

All three have family actively engaged in production agriculture, plan to pursue a career in agriculture and will enroll in a college or university for the 2003 fall semester.

An impartial selection committee composed of agricultural educators and agribusiness people selected 100 winners. In evaluating the applicants, the committee considered leadership in community and school activities, involvement on the farm and responses to essay questions.
