Jim Hefner
Allen County

"I’m impressed with the respect OFBF has with the local, state and national government," said Jim Hefner. "Ohio Farm Bureau is a good advocate for farming, and they really have their finger on the pulse of what’s going on and help let us know when (farmers) don’t have time to learn about everything ourselves."

Hefner has put that trust in OFBF for the last 18 years. He’s also worked hard to help Allen County Farm Bureau along. For the last four years, Hefner has served as president of his county board. Prior to that he was chair of the public affairs committee. Since he has been a Farm Bureau member, he has belonged to the Haytumblers Advisory Council.

Hefner and his family raise corn and soybeans. Off the farm, he is an engineering manager for Diamond Machine and Manufacturing. He is also an adult Sunday school teacher for Heidelberg Reform Church. Hefner has been a 4-H adviser for 25 years. He and his wife, Cindy, also belong to the Ohio Young Farmer Association.

They have two children, Kevin, 11, and Charlee, 6 and reside in Lima.
