Pioneer Region - Guernsey County Farm Bureau
For 20-plus years, Guernsey County Farm Bureau has brought its members together for fellowship, fun and Farm Bureau at its annual pork chop dinner.
There are display areas where members can learn about Farm Bureau programs. Some of the programs featured were AWARE, county scholarship, State Youth Conferences and the $1,500 reward program.
Dale Dietrich, Monroe County Farm Bureau president, gave a short presentation on his recent Cuba trip with OFBF. The dinner was held at the Cassell Station Firehouse, and the volunteer firemen gave a safety presentation to the Workers Compensation Group. They demonstrated the proper use of fire extinguishers, as well as showed some of the equipment they use such as the Jaws of Life. "Guernsey County Farm Bureau feels that we need to give an opportunity to our members to get together to socialize and see what's going on in Farm Bureau," said Betsy Anderson, organization director for Belmont, Guernsey, Monroe and Noble counties. "We hope this keeps our membership informed of changes, new benefits and it's just a lot of fun to work together on the grilling and ice cream making."
This year 250 people attended. CAPTION: Bill McCulloch and Bill Dimitrovic, l to r, Guernsey County Farm Bureau board members, staff the grill at the annual pork chop dinner. | |
