Built to Last This summer's annual Leadership Conference will be held Aug. 14 and 15 at the Marriott North and Sanese Services in Columbus. "Built to Last" is the theme for the training conference, according to OFBF Director of Technology and Staff Development David Rule. "Farm Bureau has accomplished so much, but there is so much we still can accomplish. We want to continue to train our volunteer leaders and keep Farm Bureau strong for years to come," he said.
County presidents and the following committee chairmen are invited to attend the meeting: advisory council and young farmer, agricultural ecology, county information coordinators, government affairs, marketing, Nationwide sponsorship coordinators, promotion and education, safety and youth. Committee chairmen and presidents can expect to receive additional information about the conference from their organization director.
The conference will kick off and end with great speakers that will motivate and challenge new and returning chairmen, Rule said, and volunteers will enjoy an evening at the Ohio State Fair Aug. 14. Also, the semi-final competition of the young farmer Discussion Meet will take place. This determines the four finalists who will compete for the state title at the OFBF annual meeting in December.
