Reconnect to FFA: Celebrate 75 years

Remember how you felt the first time you wore the FFA jacket? With nearly 3 million former members, millions of memories are wrapped up in the days spent wearing the corn gold and national blue.

Now, as FFA celebrates its diamond anniversary, the organization hopes to rekindle some of those memories by reconnecting with former FFA members.

"Thousands of young people have launched successful careers and lives through their experiences in FFA," said Larry Case, national FFA adviser.

"These success stories serve as inspiration for the nearly half million young people nationwide who are just beginning to explore the opportunities available through FFA. As part of the FFA at 75 celebration in 2003, we wanted to find a way to get in touch with former FFA members," Case said. "We urge all former members to log on to our Web site and reconnect with FFA. Let us know what FFA meant to you growing up and what kind of influence it’ s had upon your life."

Former FFA members are encouraged to sign in at the guest book at www.ffa.org or call toll-free 888-433-2674. The Web site offers a virtual tour and information about what FFA is doing today. At the reconnect Web site, FFA alumni are able to register online and locate old friends. Links also are available to search alumni and student chapter directories. In addition, former members can seek volunteer opportunities in their local areas.

As a token of appreciation for prior members, those who register at the reconnect Web site will be entered into a drawing for FFA 75 th anniversary merchandise.
