Profiles Volunteer Olen Genter has been a Fulton County Farm Bureau member for 46 years. He has served on the county board, as membership chairman and a delegate to the OFBF annual meeting.
"There are lots of good reasons to be a Farm Bureau member. Farm Bureau’s work helps farmers all the time. One of the most recent victories was CAUV," Genter said. "The best thing about Farm Bureau, though, is the fellowship you find."
In earlier times, the Genters raised dairy heifers, hogs, dogs and chickens at Genter’s wife’s homeplace. Currently, on the family’s second farm, which is managed by their son, they raise hogs, corn, wheat and soybeans.
Genter and his wife, Ada, have four children and 11 grandchildren. They reside in Pettisville and are members of the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Archibald. | |
