LEAP launches new Web siteIf you need information about the Livestock Environmental Assurance Program (LEAP), the program's new Web site should be able to help. At www.ohleap.org, information is available to explain the differences among LEAP Level 1, LEAP Pasture and LEAP 2. Also included is the On-Farm Assessment and Environmental Review program and help for those considering participating.
LEAP program partners – OSU Extension, USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service, local soil and water conservation districts and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Soil & Water Conservation (DSWC) – will find resources for setting-up a local LEAP training session.
Current funding for LEAP is provided in part from a grant through the ODNR’s DSWC. It was originally funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency through the Non-point Source Management Program pursuant to Section 319h of the Federal Clean Water Act as amended in 1987.
